ENGINEERING DATA BANK // TRL 3 → TRL 9 HARDWARE & SOFTWARE R&D PIPELINE

Staged R&D Validation & Interactive CAD Blueprints

Complete engineering schematics, live interactive 100Hz Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) wave-stabilization simulator, Froude-scaled physical testbed parameters (Fn = 1.17), and our comparative specification ledger across the BAYWING fleet family (all budgets in HKD).

PHASE 0: SOFTWARE-IN-THE-LOOP (SIL) VALIDATION (MONTHS 1–9 | TRL 3 → 4)

6-DOF Digital Twin & Algorithmic De-Risking

Before committing capital to physical hull fabrication, we execute a software-first development strategy at Hong Kong Science Park (HKSTP). Using a high-fidelity 6-DOF hydrodynamic Digital Twin and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) benchtop, we validate our core 100Hz flight-control algorithms mathematically before water trials.

1. Model-in-the-Loop (MIL)

6-DOF hydrodynamic physics engine simulating hull wave resistance, T-foil lift/drag ratios, cavitation limits, and free-surface proximity effects.

2. Software-in-the-Loop (SIL)

Real-time C++/RTOS flight control algorithms tested against virtual Victoria Harbour chop and Lantau swell (JONSWAP wave spectra) to prove 100Hz pitch and roll stability.

3. Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL)

Flashing validated control code onto target STM32H7 and edge compute nodes connected to IP68 servo actuators to verify sub-8ms deterministic latency.

BAYWING-D1 (1:8 Scale Autonomous Testbed)

Because pitch and heave natural oscillation frequencies scale with √(g/L), a 1:8 Froude-scaled model (3.56m LOA, Fn = 1.17 at 13.4 knots) oscillates 2.83× faster than our 28.5-meter commercial ferry. Stabilizing the D1 at 100Hz in Tolo Harbour is mathematically equivalent to a 283Hz control loop on the full-scale flagship—completely de-risking our commercial flight-control stack.

PHASE 2: COMMERCIAL PILOT (MONTHS 12–24 | TRL 7 → 8)

BAYWING-D2 (25–40 Pax Commercial Pilot)

The 15-meter BAYWING-D2 is our commercial bridge: validating human-rated Hong Kong transit, securing Marine Department (HKMD) certification, and generating initial farebox revenue. Following our completed 21 Oct 2026 site walkover with HK Electric at Sheung Wan Landing No. 1, our Sheung Wan shore-power hub (direct 22 kV HV / BESS architecture) supports both the D2's 500 kW fast charger and future 3.5 MW MCS fleet scaling.

Sheung Wan 22 kV Greenfield Anchor

Following our 21 Oct 2026 walkover with HK Electric, establishing a Greenfield EV Terminal adjacent to the Sheung Wan 132/22 kV Zone Substation provides a direct 22 kV feed for D2, D3–D5, and EF-150 operations without Central footpath excavations.

1:1 ITC ESS Matching Leverage

A HK$ 10,000,000 Seed/Pre-A VC investment unlocks the Hong Kong Innovation and Technology Commission's Enterprise Support Scheme (ESS) 1:1 matching grant (HK$ 10,000,000), doubling total capital to HK$ 20,000,000 to fully fund D2 construction and certification.

PHASE 2–3 INFRASTRUCTURE & FLEET MRO // GIS: 22.290175° N, 114.148746° E

Vertically Integrated Ecosystem: Water-Airport + 3.5 MW Mega-Charger + Tsing Yi MRO Base

A 38-knot electric hydrofoil fleet cannot rely on legacy ferry operators or aging 1980s piers. BAYWING engineers the entire physical stack: (1) our Cap. 127 Offshore Water-Airport at Sheung Wan Landing No. 1 (`22.290175, 114.148746`) next to the HKE 132/22 kV Zone Substation and Fire Services HQ; (2) our 1.5 MWh LFP BESS & 3.5 MW CharIN MCS robotic dispenser; (3) our Tsing Yi overnight 50-ton travel-lift maintenance base; and (4) serial composite hull production in Shenzhen/Zhuhai shipyards.

01. SHEUNG WAN WATER-AIRPORT (CAP. 127) GIS: 22.290175, 114.148746

2-Story Offshore Marine Deck + Dual CIQ / Domestic Concourse

Constructed on rock-socketed marine piles seaward of Sai Fire Services Street (~50m north of the HKE Zone Substation and adjacent to the Fire Services Dept HQ). Level 2 (FFL ≥ +7.0 mPD) houses the flood-protected 22 kV Concrete Substation (3→6 × 1,500 kVA) and covered travellator link to Shun Tak / MTR Exit D; Level 1 (+3.8 mPD) houses the Sterile International CIQ Gates, Domestic Feeder Gates, and 1.5 MWh BESS.

02. 3.5 MW MEGA-CHARGER & 1.5 MWh BESS 12-SEC VACUUM LOCK

Open-Standard CharIN MCS (IEC 61851-23-3) + Macao 400V-BESS Twin

Combines modular 1,500 kVA HKE transformers with a 1.5 MWh liquid-cooled LFP BESS buffer on a 1,250V DC busbar to deliver 3.5 MW bursts in 10–12 minutes with zero grid shock. At Macao Outer Harbour & Taipa terminals (where DSMM confirmed 400V surplus power on 27 Oct 2026), an identical 2.0 MWh BESS container steps up 400V trickle power to 3.5 MW MCS output.

03. TSING YI OVERNIGHT MRO DEPOT 50-TON TRAVEL-LIFT

Nightly Foil NDT Inspection & <2.5-Hr Modular Pod/Battery Swaps

Separates revenue passenger berths at Sheung Wan from heavy maintenance. Vessels deadhead 12 minutes to Tsing Yi / Stonecutters industrial marine lots after midnight for crane haul-out, ultrasonic carbon-foil debris inspection, and rapid rack swaps of pre-certified pod drives and LFP packs—eliminating cross-border towing to Zhuhai.

04. HKIA SKYPIER AIRSIDE & GBA YARDS UNCAPPED COMMERCIAL YIELD

Airline APM Feeder Model + Shenzhen/Zhuhai Serial Hull Fabrication

Pairs Hong Kong Science Park (HKSTP) 100Hz flight-control IP with high-velocity composite hull fabrication in Shenzhen/Zhuhai shipyards. Captures uncapped commercial fares (HK$ 220–480/seat) on medium-range GBA corridors and customs-free HKIA SkyPier Automated People Mover (APM) airline transfers.
